Surrey Minor Hockey Association organizes players from the ages 4 - 20 to play hockey for the
sport of it. The association draws its players from an area that encompasses the north west part
of the City of Surrey in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. In the 2007 - 2008 season,
we have 1030 players playing on 64 teams. We are one of the largest minor hockey associations
in British Columbia. Our home games are primarily played at the North Surrey Recreation Centre
and Newton Recreation Centre.
Rep tryout dates and times now posted

The current planned rep tryout dates for the 2008-09 season are now posted on the
upcoming events page. The rep tryout ice times for the Atom,
Peewee and Bantam divisions are now posted
on the ice schedule and applicable
division pages.
Coach Selections for the Rep teams
The coach selections for the rep teams for the upcoming season have been completed. The
selected coaches are now listed under the applicable division pages.
Updated Goaltender Equipment Size Regulations
Hockey Canada has delayed the implementation of the new size regulations for goaltender equipment
until the 2009 - 2010 season. For the specifics on the size limitations, refer to the
Hockey Canada bulletin.
SMHA wins prestigious award
At the PCAHA Annual General Meeting held on May 25, all of the hard work by all the
association members, coaches, team officials, executive members and parents was recognized by
the PCAHA. Surrey Minor Hockey Association was awarded the Fred Page Memorial Trophy. This
trophy is awarded annually to the Minor Hockey Association adjudged to have made an
outstanding contribution to its community by providing a sound minor hockey program. Congratulations to
all who have this award possible and a special thanks to Rob Kullar for providing the
leadership during this time.
Returning Players to register on line
Returning players for the 2008 - 2009 season will be required to register on line this year. Refer to
the Returning Player registration information to find out how easy it is. Note: Any players registering for the first time or those that are transferring to SMHA for the upcoming season must contact the registrar for proper registration procedures.
