SMHA looses a valued member

Hardip Mann has been a member of Surrey Minor Hockey for the past 10 years. He has had his children involved in various sports. Besides hockey, his children have played lacrosse, soccer and rugby. Hardip always stepped up to the plate and volunteered his services in the sports in which his children participated. Over the past few years he has been heavily involved in administrating and coaching soccer. Prior to his soccer commitments he managed some of the Surrey Minor teams that his son Inderjit played on.

Hardip was always respectful and supportive of all the hardworking volunteers of the association, both at the team and the executive levels. The biggest part of what Hardip contributed as a hockey parent was the positive atmosphere he brought to the rink. He was the epitome of the ideal hockey parent, always seeing the good in every situation, while promoting goodwill amongst the parents and players. He was well liked not only by the parents and players in our association but the associations that Surrey played against. Almost in any rink that Hardip visited there were parents and players from the other teams who knew him and ran to greet him. He made visiting the cold rinks a warm experience. There has been an outpouring of support from members not only from our association but also all our neighbouring associations.

His upbeat jovial attitude will surely be missed by all he touched.
